The Virtual March for Immigration Reform

Working with Michael Bloomberg’s Partnership for a New American Economy, we organized the largest virtual march for immigration reform in history, mobilizing grassroots supporters, influencers, and celebrities for two nationwide days of action, later expanding to days of action in targeted states.

the challenge

The debate on immigration reform was dominated by the usual partisanship. We knew that to pass reform, we needed a strong grassroots movement across all Americans to show the real opportunity for immigration reform.

the project

We built an online community centered around one simple idea: it’s time for immigration reform. What started as a few tech companies kicking around into an idea sparked a movement with tens of thousands of engaged supporters.

the result

After two days of virtual “iMarching”, several days of action across the country, and countless actions directed at Congress, the Senate passed an immigration reform bill 68-32. On to the House!
